Please do not allow Ricky Carter to be released on parole. 

Twenty years incarceration is not enough for destroying the lives of four innocent young people and for negatively impacting the lives of those left behind. 

Allowing offenders to be released from prison after serving minimal time is a mockery of the justice system in our country.

I am a victim of a driver who was on parole for driving while drunk.  He left the scene of an injury accident and was found later slumped over his steering wheel, too drunk to drive further.  I watched him run two red lights after he pulled away from the rear of my vehicle to escape.

Following three months to recover and intensive therapy for fractures in my back, I nearly lost my job for not being at work.  Although protected by employment laws, I suffered much unkindness from upper management.

Additionally, financial losses incurred while away-from-work and the replacement of a new car were devastating.

I realize I was among the lucky ones who survived; but, have great compassion for the families of those left behind.
