Carter State ID: 06227942 TDCJ ID:01009150
Placed in parole review on 07/05/05
I am writing to protest the
early release of Ricky Carter from jail for the drunk
driving deaths of Mandi McWhorter, Whitney Welch,
Staci Lee, and Lacey Osina from Brock, Texas. I
am a resident of Parker County and am horrified at the
thought that this man may receive early parole and
have the opportunity to commit his crime again. Why
should this man be allowed to receive a second chance
when his victims got no chance at all? But
the law has already allowed him to have his second
chance at the end of his twenty-year sentence – that
is far more than any of the girls will ever get. Ricky
Carter should feel lucky that he is alive, even if it
is in prison. Texas courts made the
decision to put this man in jail for twenty years, and
I encourage you to honor that decision and deny Ricky
Carter parole.
Thank you,
Linda Bannister
