To: Texas Parole Board of Pardon
and Reviews Re: Parole Review Offender: Ricky Carter State ID: 06227942 TDJC ID: 01009150 Placed in Parole Review on 07/05/05
To the Board:
I vehemently protest
the parole of Ricky Carter. His total disregard of the
law and the lives of others resulted in the tragic death
of four beautiful young women. The granting of parole
before he has served every day of his sentence would be
a terrible insult to the grieving families.
I say this with some
familiarity about the subject of parole. In 1990, my
son, then a student at the University of Tulsa College
of Law, was carjacked, robbed, and murdered by two
assassins. They were sentenced to life imprisonment,
but were eligible for parole after only fifteen years.
Fortunately, parole was denied just this week, but they
will be eligible every three years thereafter.
Just as the parole of
these two murderers is unthinkable to all persons of
decency, so to is the parole of Ricky Carter.
