RE: Parole Review Offender: Ricky Carter
State ID: 06227942
TDCJ ID:01009150
Placed in parole review on 07/05/05
To Whom It May Concern:
I cannot believe that Ricky
Carter has the possibility of parole after 5 years,
when he snuffed out the lives of four young women that
had their whole lives ahead of them. This is beyond
the comprehension of any sane person. This man had a
choice and got behind the wheel, when legally
drunk, and changed the lives of so many people. He
should serve the entire sentence of 20 years.
It just breaks my heart to
imagine the pain that these families have suffered and
will continue to suffer their entire lives. I have a
daughter that will be driving next year and it really
scares me that she will have to worry about people
such as Ricky Carter.
In my twenty-one years as a
firefighter for the City of Arlington, I cannot begin
to count the times that I have seen this exact
scenario; a drunk driver walks away and innocent
people are carried off in body bags. I always wonder
why the drunks that say “I never drink and drive”,
come out of the incident unscathed but leave behind
total destruction to innocent people like these
beautiful young women and their families.
If this man is paroled and
kills again, will you be held
responsible? Could you sleep at night?
Please do the right thing for Lacey, Mandi, Whitney
and Staci, their suffering friends and families,
Parker County and my daughter, a future driver.
